The objectives of this Government (CEDD)'s feasibility this study is to carry out an engineering study to ascertain the feasibility of and scope of developing the Kong Nga Po site for residential use upon the release of the land from the former Frontier Closed Area. One of the study's main objectives was to confirm the feasibility of implementing the development to meet the first land availability by 2020. KJL and OVA Studio were part of the multi-disciplinary team led by the leading consultant to provide planning and urban design input to review development parameters, initial indicative layout and access arrangement of the development. However, CEDD decided in January 2014 to stop the study due to re-thinking of the strategic studies for the formerly closed border area at the time.
